After a few eventful days exploring the vineyards or enjoying the cultural highlights of Tuscany, treat yourself to a time out at the gorgeous beaches of the Maremma. Experience the unique nature reserve, which is Italy's largest, with its untamed, natural beaches and crystal-clear water. If you like a bit more action, then stroll along the shores of the fishing villages and end your day with a sunset in one of the many authentic bars or restaurants. We have compiled a small selection of beaches below that you can all easily access by car in 20-60 minutes from our il Salotto resort.<\/p>\n

Talamone<\/h4>

Talamone is the southern gate to the Parco della Maremma and it is located on cliffs above the Mediterranean. When you stroll through the town, you'll find many options to take a break. We especially recommend the Stabilimento Balneare Bagno Delle Donne, a natural pool located in the seaside cliffs that is surrounded by a small, typically Italian bath house with sunbeds and a bar with an amazing view. You will hardly find a more beautiful place for an Aperol or a fresh regional white wine.<\/p>\n

Marina di Grosseto<\/h4>

This large sandy beach with a yacht harbour stretches across 10 km from Marina di Grosseto to Castiglione della Pescaia. In the town and along the long beach promenade in Marina, you can find many restaurants right on the beach. Here you will find bustling activity deep into the night. If you like things to be a bit quieter, then stroll along the beach in the direction of Castiglione.<\/p>\n

Another highlight are the trendy and cool beach bar and the Ristorante La Fiumara Beach<\/strong>. Here, you can wind down your day with an Aperol mixed with wine, a good wine or a tasty meal on the beach. It will give you a real \"Mauritius feeling\".<\/p>\n

Duna La Feniglia<\/h4>

\"One of Europe's best beaches\" \u2013 that's how some travel guides put it. This is where young Italians and their families get together. At the end of the beach, you can find bars, restaurants, a lifeguard station and the obligatory sunbed and parasol rentals.<\/p>\n

Just the extraordinarily excellent \"Braccio la Feniglia\" beach restaurant<\/strong>\u00a0makes the drive and a visit to the beach worth it. This ristorante at the gorgeous La Feniglia beach is a truly trendy destination! The service is great and fast, the food is divine \u2013 certainly not what you would ever expect from a beach restaurant. The home-made pasta and the fish dishes are the main specialities. The international wine list hardly leaves anything to be desired.<\/p>\n

But please remember to make a reservation ahead of time (ideally using our name). And, when making the reservation, ask for a parking spot. We have some reserved exclusively for the guests of our resort.<\/p>\n

Spiaggia Gianella<\/h4>

A beautiful and partially wild, large sandy beach between Monte Argentario and Albinia with gorgeous sunsets.\u00a0The beach restaurant Il Pescatore da Mario<\/strong>\u00a0is beautifully situated on the Mediterranean with a westward view toward Corsica. Its terrace is the perfect place for a sundowner to end a day on a relaxing note. Italian cuisine and, obviously, seafood, are served until late at night.<\/p>\n

Spiaggia di Cala Violina<\/h4>

This spectacular beach offers pure nature off the beaten tourist paths as well as amazing water for swimming and snorkelling. It can only be reached on foot or by bike from Punta Ala or Pantone.<\/p>\n

The \"Cavallo Avventura<\/strong>\" riding centre can be found nearby. It is perfect for long horseback rides on the beach.<\/p>\n

Isola del Giglio<\/h4>

With a size of approx. 20 sqm, Giglio is a little treasure among Tuscan islands. Many beaches and countless small bays far away from the hustle and bustle of other places promise a relaxing day. The untouched nature invites you to go on hikes, and the crystal-clear, emerald water with depths rich in fish offer unforgettable snorkelling and scuba excursions. Giglio is easily accessible by ferry in an hour from the mainland.<\/p>\n

Ferry from Porto Santo Stefano (Argentario peninsula) to Giannutri\/Giglio with Maregiglio or Toremar. Cost of the round trip for 2 persons plus car (e.g. Audi A5): approx. \u20ac90.<\/p>\n

From a culinary perspective, we would like to recommend the Restaurant La Guardia<\/strong>\u00a0in the boutique hotel of the same name in the port of Giglio Porto. It only serves regional and seasonal products. That ensures that the kitchen staff can perform its magic and offer a truly authentic cuisine.<\/p>\n

Isola d\u2019Elba<\/h4>

Elba is the largest Tuscan island and it has a rich history and lush nature. You arrive in Portoferraio. Within the city walls, the historical city centre with its Roman and Florentine buildings unfolds.\u00a0 Elba's greatest claim to fame was the lengthy stay of Napoleon during his exile there. The Napoleonic Museum in the Villa dei Mulini is a reminder of that time. The beaches of the Gulf of Biodala, just a few minutes away from Portoferraio, are among the island's most beautiful. Biodola, Scaglieri and Forno. A 30-minute car ride away, on the south side of the island, you will find the beautiful, long Marina del Campo beach with its bars and ice cream parlours.<\/p>\n
