The protection offered by the mountains and the proximity to the Mediterranean with its warm updrafts create a unique microclimate. This is where the expressive Morellino from il Salotto grows.
Colour
Intense ruby red with vivid reflexes.
Scent
Distinct echoes of red fruits, blueberries, currants and ripe cherries in the nose accompany the finishing flavours of green pepper and leather.
Aroma
In the mouth, evenly full and round with a fine, lasting flavour and a harmonious yet non-aggressive acidity. The tannins present themselves as soft and silky and they envelope the palate with an elegant and long-lasting aftertaste.
In 2019, we harvested the remaining old vines with an outstanding result. Since our wines first continue to age in bottles and barrels to develop their full taste, we will only bring our Morellino di Scansano to market in early 2021.
