Parco dei Mostri

This "Park of Monsters" was commissioned by Vicino Orsini in the 16th century and took 30 years to build. The complex later fell into oblivion and nature reclaimed it. The sculptures were not rediscovered until the middle of the 20th century and partially excavated. It served Salvador Dali and others as inspiration. The park is very expressive with regard to the interplay of enchanted, surreal sculptures and the lush green vegetation.  A delightful trip to discover a fantasy world.
